OVERVIEW
A sanctuary for escapism and adventure, Coqui Coqui Cobá is a unique hideaway nestled deep within the Yucatan jungle overlooking a tranquil lagoon. Inspired by the nearby Coba ruins and the 1920’s safari explorers era, the hotel melds almost seamlessly with its natural surroundings. The property is made up of twin limestone towers, each with dipping pools, lounge areas and suites overlooking the lagoon and / or nearby ruins. The onsite restaurant serves up Mexican, Argentinian and Italian fusion with ingredients sourced from the property’s organic garden and cenote, while the spa offers a wide range of massages, organic facials and fruit scrubs that use traditional Mayan techniques focused on healing and renewal.
WHY WE LOVE IT
We love the jungle chic vibe with its minimalist aesthetic, neutral palette and natural materials. The handwoven hammocks throughout the property are a Coqui Coqui signature and offer a cozy nook to curl up with your book and disconnect from the world. The hotel itself is the destination, with jungles, cenotes and Mayan ruins at your doorstep, and little to do outside of hotel grounds when it comes to dining and shopping, but honestly, that’s what we love. Come here to unplug (literally—don’t expect a television in your suite) and reconnect.
LOCATION
Coqui Coqui Coba Residence & Spa is under two hours from Cancun International Airport and a 40-minute drive from both Tulum and Valladolid. The ruins of the ancient Mayan city, Coba, are a four minute drive away, there are several cenotes a short drive from the hotel and the beaches of Tulum are worth the day trip as well.
